The number of active players in 2019 was 1,370,288, -6.7% less than the previous year.
The analysis of the GGR by gambling segments shows that:
GGR's € 748.24 million is distributed in € 378.3 million in Betting (50.56%); € 12.7 million in Bingo (1.7%); € 273.92 million in Casino (36.52%), € 2.7 million in Contests (0.37%) and € 81.3 million in Poker (10.86%).
The betting segment has a growth rate compared to the previous year of 3.34%. The growth is due to the fact that live sports betting increased in the last year by 11.67% and reached 60.39% of the total betting market, offsetting the decrease (-7.28%, year-on-year) of conventional sports betting, which represents 37.09% of the total betting market.
Bingo decreased in 2018 with an annual variation rate of -5.6%.
There has been growth in the casino segment in 2019, with an annual variation rate of 14.93%, although it is observed that this rate is lower than in previous years, 49.96% in 2017 and 33, 1% in 2018. This growth is mainly due to the behavior of slot machines since their launch in 2015 and has led to increasingly higher market shares of the casino compared to the rest of the segments. In 2019 it represented 54.47% of the casino and had an annual variation of 20.58%. Variations increase compared to the previous year, live roulette (25.42%). Complementary games disappear and conventional roulette decreases (-0.21%) and Black Jack (-11.96%).
The contests experienced an increase of 166.23% in the annual variation rate.
Poker presented a slight decrease in 2019, obtaining an annual variation rate of -0.68% due to the -6.68% decrease in cash poker. Tournament poker increased 2.93% over the previous year and accounted for 64.76% of the poker market.
Marketing spending in 2019 was € 372 million, which is broken down into € 39.36 million affiliation expenses; sponsorship € 20.69 million; promotions 128.98; and advertising € 182.98 million.
The monthly average of active accounts was 903,272, which implies a growth of 8.62% compared to the previous year. The monthly average of new gaming accounts is 265,879 users, with an annual growth of 3.86%.
It should also be noted that since the shared liquidity for poker with France and Portugal was opened in January 2018, five platforms have been set up in Spain.
